The Longines China League is coming up in a new shape for 2018! Not only the FEI modernized the whole World Cup but also new venues will be introduced to the series this year.
While the FEI rebranded their whole World Cup and Nations Cup series and therefore these series appear in a new, fresh look, also the Longines China League followed this trend and added two new venues to the calendar: Tianjin and Chengdu!
The start of this year’s season will be made in Tianjin. It will host this event from the 28th of April to the 01st of May. The host venue for this extraordinary show will be the Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club, where already important national equestrian showjumping shows were hosted. Here the audience can witness, which top rider of the Chinese equestrian scene can handle these new conditions at a new venue the best and get themselves in the pole position for the upcoming next events.
The second leg will be hosted in Chengdu from the 25th to the 27th of May. This is a reunion with the capital city of the Sichuan province, since it has been the host city for the final of the 2012 series. Already then Chengdu shows off its enormous potential and passion for equestrian sports, so that it was only a question of time, when the Longines China League would return to this city. While the city is the same, the venue will be totally different. In 2012 the final was held as an outdoor show, while this time it will be an indoor event, which underlines the attractiveness and special part of Chengdu within the series this year. The area of the “Western China International Expo City” will be transformed into an Eldorado for equestrianism. Besides thrilling classes and competitions inside the arena, the audience can enjoy culinary delicacies, various shopping opportunities and family entertainment.
The third and as well final station will be held in Beijing. The capital of China and important center of the Chinese equestrian scene is an inherent part in the equestrian calendar for years and decides again this year, who will be the winner of the Longines China League and get the ticket for the World Cup Final in Gothenburg. The Equestrian Center inside the Chaoyang Park proved its value over the years and demonstrated that it is worth to host the final event of an international acclaimed top class showjumping series. The date for this outstanding event will be the 4th – 7th of October – during the “Golden week” most suitable for a family tour.
