“I think it is safe to say that the auction becomes a little bit bigger and better every year”, Emil Spadone begins. “There wasn’t a free seat in the house left and the interest in the horses was exceptional. We could not be happier to have found great new owners for all the horses and the pony. The atmosphere at the auction was buzzing and I think it was an overall success. We look forward to seeing the horses continue their careers and become high performing graduates of our auction.” The collection sold to live bidders and by phone to American buyers originating from all over the country.
Top sellers
The top three selling horses made their mark with hunter prospect Culiko EB (Casall x Colman) being one of the most popular horses. The gelding, bred by Rolf-Gorän & Evi Bengsston changed owners for 370.000 dollar. This top seller was joined by the smallest lot of the group, German bred pony Neonlight. The palomino pony also sold for 370.000 dollar and will henceforth also be admired in the hunter ring.
Top jumper
The third top selling horse of the evening was also whispered to be a favorite. Seven-year-old jumper Hurricane (Halifax van het Kluizebos x Quaprice Bois Margot) had a lot of interest from several of the world’s most prominent riders, finally finding a new owner for 360.000 dollar.
Excellent collaboration
“We are very grateful for everyone who made the fourth edition of our auction at the WEC a great success”, Paul Hendrix says. “Thanks to the collaboration between Stal Hendrix, Redfield Farms and Andre Thieme we’ve had a super versatile collection of horses. And thanks to the World Equestrian Center and the partnership we have with them, we’ can celebrate a fantastic auction once again and are happy to have this venue as a permanent home for our event.”
