Organizer Mario Everse looks back with a broad smile: “Two auction highlights selling for €60,000 is of course a fantastic result. These are exceptionally nice horses that will bring their new owners a lot of joy. The ridden horses were clearly popular, but the high-quality young horses also attracted significant interest. A two-year-old was sold for €20,000 for example.”
The nine-year-old mare Perigueux’s Paula (Perigueux x Ibero I) was one of the most sought-after horses. In the end, Cupid struck in Armenia, where she will continue her career at 1.40m level. The seven-year-old grey gelding Vincenzo (Vingino x Balou du Rouet) achieved the same top price and will depart for Poland.
In addition to the two Valentine’s highlights, four more horses sold for amounts exceeding €25,000. The eight-year-old mare E-Gold (E-Star x Vingino) and the twelve-year-old Jack Daniels (Emir R x Renville) both found new homes in the United States. The six-year-old Curraghmore Miss Quin (Mr Quincy B x Ard VDL Douglas) will remain in the Netherlands. The six-year-old mare Pien (L’Extreme BH x Zirocco Blue VDL) will be welcomed by buyers from Ecuador.
Worldwide love for Youhorse collection
The Valentine’s collection found its way to no fewer than 22 different countries. The four-year-old Grandominago Z (Grandorado x Dominator 2000 Z) will head to Mexico, the six-year-old Sandro Gold (Sandro Junior x Stakkato Gold) will continue her career in South Africa. The two-year-old Diaran (Diarado x Karajan) has been sold to New Zealand.
Germany led the way this edition with eight purchases, followed by France with seven. Egypt and Slovakia also made their presence known, with five and four purchases respectively.
On to the Early Spring Auction
Following this successful Valentine’s auction, the Youhorse.auction team is already looking ahead to the Early Spring Auction on Tuesday, March 3. “It will be a wonderful mix of sport and breeding, from embryo to competition horse,” promises Mario Everse. “There are still a few spots available for the video and selection days on Monday, February 9 and Tuesday, February 10.
