At the second edition of the World Sport Horse Sales, held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala Florida, the 14 auction horses sold for excellent prices with the average selling price nearly 100.000 dollars higher than the year before. “The horses that we sold in 2023 are doing very well in the US, I think this gave the buyers the extra confidence to invest in the future”, Paul Hendrix explains.

Top-sellers
With a packed bidding area and lots of spectators in the stands the evening was off to a great start. A total of 14 horses ranked up an average selling price of 269.000 dollar with three horses elevating the otherwise excellent numbers. The top seller, Monalisa H (Glennfiddich VDL x Wittinger VDL) fully lived up to the expectations of German top rider Andre Thieme, who selected the seven-year-old mare for the auction. She changed owners for 350.000 dollars.

Another seven-year-old horse that sold for more than 300K was Karlotta (by Million Dollar x Calido I). The mare, trained by Stal Hendrix, earned a figure of 320.000 dollars. The third top ranking horse was Bacardi. A nine-year-old gelding by Corland x Kannan that impressed with his jumping manners and winner mentality sold for 290.000 dollar.

Very proud and grateful
“We are very grateful for everyone who made the second edition of our auction at the WEC in Ocala possible”, Paul Hendrix says. “Thanks to the collaboration between Stal Hendrix, Redfield Farms and Andre Thieme we’ve had a fantastic collection of horses. And thanks to the WEC crew and the Roberts family we’ve been able to organize an auction like no other. With the selection of horses appealing to showjumping, hunter and equitation riders we’ve had lots of interest.”

Entertaining
“Everyone enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere and dining in the impressive setting of the WEC with the weather in our favor. Also new auctioneer, Koen Olaerts, informed and entertained the bidding crowd excellently. We cannot be prouder of what the team in front and behind the scenes has established here tonight. We hope it contributes to the foundation of our auction here and that we’ve set the tone for the years to come”.
