For the latest edition of SK Favorite, Kuyten has once again selected a young horse she fully believes in. This time, the spotlight is on Uncharted de Melodie Z, a talented four-year-old son of Untouched. At the age of just nine, Untouched was already competing at 1.60m level with Ben Maher and has become one of the most influential sires of recent years through his phenomenal son United Touch S. Here, he is combined with the outstanding dam line tracing back to the legendary Grand Prix mare Qerly Chin.

Granddam line of Narcotique de Muze II
Dam Chabada de la Pomme is a half-sister to nearly 20 international showjumpers, including the 1.55m and 1.60m performers Mister Qerly Z, Heroine de Muze, Huxx de Muze, Inshallah de Muze and Iphigeneia de Muze. Her oldest offspring is the 1.40m jumper Beethoven de la Pomme, while she is also the granddam of the international 1.45m jumpers Garfield, with whom McLain Ward recently made his 1.55m debut, and Kiss Me Devil. The third dam of Uncharted de Melodie Z is none other than Narcotique de Muze II. This exceptional mare competed at the highest level herself and produced an extraordinary number of Grand Prix horses, including Boyante de Muze, Sea Coast Ferly, Giovani de la Pomme and Querlybet Hero.

“I bought him in December and immediately fell for his looks. Even when he was loose jumping, he produced exactly the same jump every single time. That consistency is something he continues to show under saddle today. On top of that, he has a wonderful character and is the kind of horse that makes his rider happy every day.”

A different approach to auctions
With SK Favorite, Suus Kuyten deliberately takes a different approach to horse auctions. Instead of presenting a large collection, every edition focuses on just one carefully selected horse. “The market has changed. Buyers are searching for quality all year round. With this concept, I can offer my clients something extra alongside the live auction in December,” Kuyten explains.
