Over the past 25 years, the Limburg Foal Auction has undergone an impressive development. The level of quality has continued to rise, auction results have followed the same upward trend and interest from international sport stables has grown year after year. Despite the current decline in breeding numbers, the organisation was once again able to count on a fantastic selection of foals this year. The result is a particularly interesting collection.
Strong pedigrees
Some of the finest European damlines are represented at the Limburg Foal Auction. On Wednesday, 23 September, foals will go under the hammer that are closely related to outstanding sport horses such as championship showjumper Nelson van ’t Roosakker, multiple Grand Prix winners Van Gogh and Karonia L, Olympic horses including Emerald van ’t Ruytershof and Odense Odeveld, and top earners such as USA Today, Brooklyn Heights and Chic Hin d’Hyrencourt. When it comes to sires, this collection once again offers an attractive mix of emerging talents and, above all, a strong selection of proven sires. Leading sires including Cornet Obolensky, Diamant de Semilly, Eldorado van de Zeshoek, Bustique, Mylord Carthago, Chacco Blue and Catoki are represented by promising foals. The auction also features several offspring by up-and-coming sires such as Darry Lou, Cero Blue TN, Ermitage Kalone, Con Quidam RB and Mindset ES.
