New buyers get good deals in autumn auction of Youhorse.auction

The positive reactions for the autumn collection of Youhorse.auction translated into a successful auction on Tuesday 8 November. The 44-lots selection of sport horses and free jumping talents attracted a remarkable number of new buyers. Numero Uno offspring Montana was knocked down for 45,000 euro thus becoming the star of the auction.

Mario Everse and Alan Waldman can again look back on a successful edition of their Youhorse.auction. The first says: “It was again exciting up to the last moment! We had a good, strong collection that had already incited a lot of enthusiastic reactions, but no bids were made until on the evening itself. People kept their cards close to their chest and the game only spiraled that evening. In the end it turned out a very good auction with great prices, where we welcomed veteran buyers but also many new clients.”

“Every auction has its surprises. This time we had a bidder who topped the running bid with fifteen thousand euro in one go. As it was a new client, I quickly called him to ask if he was serious. He answered that he was on the point of catching a flight and therefore bid his maximum price immediately. Those are funny anecdotes in the auction world”, grins Mario Everse.

World-wide interest
The 6-yr-old Limited Edition (Gullit HBC x Vingino) and the 5-yr-old Waaghals (Wilfred x Master Speaker xx) made a first for Youhorse.auction, as they were the first horses ever sold in the auction to South Korea. The 5-yr-old Charom (Chapeau TN x Acobat II) will also travel east, to start under the flag of the United Arabian Emirates.
A remarkable number of horses will go to southern Europe. Italian buyers did good business and Spain claimed, for 28,000 euro and 24,000 euro respectively, the 3-yr-old Corno d’Or (Cornet Obolensky x Casall) and the 5-yr-old Astrade (Air Jordan Alpha Z x Indoctro). The 4-yr-old gelding Shadow d’Houten (Diamant de Semilly x Querlybet Hero) was sold for 28,000 euro to Denmark and Cornwall (Casall x Clinton I) will go to Ireland for 20,000 euro. The 3-yr-old Chilla Z (Chilli Willi x Unaniem) and Orochata (Taloubet x Fly) stay closer to home. First mentioned mare will move to Belgium for 22,000 euro and the Taloubet daughter remains in the Netherlands for 20,000 euro.

The most expensive four go to North America
Montana (Numero Uno x Clinton) became the star of the evening. The 5-yr-old is closely related to the Grand Prix stallion Van Gogh (by Numero Uno) and leaves no doubts about his own qualities. A buyer from Canada placed the winning bid of 45,000 euro and can look forward to a sport career on this promising gelding

In total, four horses changed hands for more than 35,000 euro. Interesting detail is that the other three, like Montana, will also travel to North America. The 10-yr-old Hocus Pocus F.E. (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) already has show experience at 1.40m level and this showed in his sales price of 38,000 euro. He will move, like the 5-yr-old mare Macy (Hermantico x Concorde) to the USA. The 4-yr-old Presley Star (Presley Boy x Quick Star) had already shown on the selection day that he lived up to his name: an absolute rockstar in the making! His qualities elicited a bidding duel with an American final bid of 35,000 euro, becoming the most expensive free jumping talent of the evening.

Two auctions in December
And, of course, the organisers of Youhorse.Auction are already busy with the next auction. In December there are even two auctions on the calendar! “The fact that the number of clients is growing indicates that the scope of the auction is increasing. Every month we sell forty to fifty horses, which adds up to a gigantic number of horses and we are not the only auction. This shows that the world is a big place with a high demand for good horses”, concludes Mario Everse.

The next auction will be held from 3 to 6 December. “That collection is a combination of sport, therefore horses under saddle, free jumping talents, and breeding. The selection and video days will be 14 and 15 November held at Stal Everse in Waddinxveen.

“In the Christmas auction on 17 to 20 December again we focusses on horses under saddle and free jumpers and for those we will organize an extra selection day early December. You can still enter horses for either selection day via the registration page on the website. We are looking for the really better kind of horses, which we are happy to invite to our video- and selection day”, Mario Everse concludes.
