Jarosław Skrzyczyński with the 8-year-old KOMBOY was the best in the Medium Tour Final, counting for the Longines Rankings. The next places on the podium belonged to Germans – Felix Hassmann i Harm Lahde.
The final of the Medium Tour, counting for the world ranking, for the prize of Baborówko Equestrian Association, was a competition against the clock. The most difficult tasks that awaited the riders on this demanding course were: the height of the obstacles (145 cm), two technical lines with combinations, but also tight turns. The best one today was Jarosław Skrzyczyński riding KOMBOY, for whom the key to success was a very smooth ride and a very short, risky, but executed in an almost perfect manner, turn to the Grupa MTP double combination.
The level was high because the competition was against the clock, without a jump-off, and from the very beginning you had to ride a little bit faster and then mistakes can happen more often. With the speed and bigger fences it’s not so easy anymore. I thought I wouldn’t be able to keep that score until the end, but it turned out well. KOMBOY is an 8-year-old horse. In fact, here at CAVALIADA, KOMBOY is competing in such difficult classes for the first time, and for this reason I decided to choose this competition instead of tomorrow’s Grand Prix. I have to give him some more time. We will probably take to Poznań and then we will see what the new year will bring. See you in Poznań,” said Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski.
The Pole’s victory is all the more satisfying, because he beat a very successful rider from Germany – Felix Hassmann with C’EST LA VIE 214, who won over 100 Longines Ranking classes throughout his career, and today had to settle for second place behind the eight-time CAVALIADA Tour winner. Third belonged to Harm Lahde from Germany and the mare HENORA. Other Poles also did well. Fifth place went to Mściwoj Kiecoń with CICERO and seventh to Paweł Jurkowski riding CHACON 2. Michał Kaźmierczak riding WHOOPY BOY was one step away from victory. He was the fastest one today, but has not escaped a knockdown.
