„That’s his strength: Richard Vogel can adapt extremely quickly to new horses and get into the rhythm of his four-legged partners.“ That’s how spring-reiter-de described why Richard Vogel could celebrate his first success with the stallion in Wellington just a few weeks after getting Quizas van’T Hulsbos (v. Emerald) under his saddle. The success continued in the USA – and now the seamless continuation followed in America. Because the typical Vogel tempo was once again added to the now established partnership.
A total of 87 rider-horse pairs competed in Tryon for the 1.45m time trial at the CSI5* – and among them were the entire top US team from Kent Farrington, Laura Kraut and McLain Ward, reinforced by, among others, the German Olympic champion Christian Kukuk. But the winner was Richard Vogel with Quizas van’T Hulsbos. Their flawless 55.73 seconds were too fast for the competition.
Cassidy Rein completed the round with Escorial K (v. Chacco’s Son) in 56.22 seconds and thus finished second ahead of Hallie Grimes on Ashton DVO Z (v. Aganix du Seigneur Z).
