“We know there will be many professionals and top sport horse people who evaluate foals with great expertise. At the same time, there are buyers specifically looking for a future stallion prospect for licensing. That means the foals must have exceptional conformation and we have once again selected very strongly with that in mind.”
Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts have assembled a collection of 20 colts and 15 fillies. “They represent 22 different sires, so the diversity is once again outstanding.”
The catalogue is led by United Touch S with five offspring, followed by Comme il Faut (4), Cornet Obolensky (3) and two foals each by Chacco Blue, Dominator 2000 Z and Ermitage Kalone.
United Touch S proving his breeding value
“We are particularly looking forward to seeing the United Touch offspring that will also be present during the Tiemeyer x Hetzel Young Horse Masters that week,” say Van Puymbroeck and Lenaerts.
A few facts illustrating the breeding power of United Touch S: the oldest offspring from his relatively small first crop are now ten years old. Among them, stallion Untouched LB, ridden by Christian Ahlmann, and Una Mariposa, ridden by Laura Kraut, are already competing successfully at 1.60m Grand Prix level. Several of his nine-year-olds are already performing at 1.50m and 1.55m level, including Umeko (1.55m) with Hendrik Dowe, the same rider who partnered United Touch S to the silver medal at the German Bundeschampionat for five-year-olds, scoring 9.1 and 9.6 in the final rounds. There are undoubtedly many more future Grand Prix horses by United Touch S on the way.
Flanders Foal Auction presents several outstanding United Touch S foals in Goch, including the filly Unibelle Field (damsire Uricas van de Kattevennen). Her granddam Coibelle Hero Z jumps 1.60m GP with Darragh Kenny and is a half-sister to Oak Grove’s Heartfelt (1.65m Grand Prix) as well as two other 1.60m Grand Prix horses.
The colt United Night van de Eijkhof Z (damsire Vagabond de la Pomme) is a grandson of Dubai du Cedre, the Olympic team gold medallist with Julien Epaillard in Paris.
The filly United de Montana Z (damsire Baloubet du Rouet) is out of the full sister to Akarad Hero Z (1.60m Grand Prix with Pieter Clemens). The dam is also a half-sister to four 1.50m showjumpers. Third dam is a sister to four 1.60m Grand Prix horses, including S.I.E.C. Caro Ass and Tinka’s Hero Z.
Grand Prix-producing mares
Every pedigree in the collection is packed with top-level sport genetics. Several foals are even out of proven international sport mares.
For example, Coldplay vd Nachtegaal Z (Chacco Blue x Coronado I) is out of a 1.55m Grand Prix mare, while his granddam competed at 1.60m Grand Prix level.
In total, 11 dams have already produced offspring competing at 1.45m to 1.65m level. Among them is Espoir d’Ounielle RD Z (Emerald x Baloubet du Rouet), a half-sister to Chacco Balou (1.65m Grand Prix) and Carisma Imperio Egipcio (1.60m Grand Prix).
Cordula de Laubry, world’s best broodmare
Of the 35 foals, 25 have granddams that have already produced 1.50m to 1.65m Grand Prix horses, while every single foal in the collection has a third dam that has produced horses at this level.
A very interesting lot is the filly Cornetta Z (Cornet Obolensky x Nabab de Rêve). Her dam is a full sister to Brooklyn Heights (1.65m Grand Prix with Denis Lynch) and Global (1.65m Grand Prix with Christian Weier). Her granddam, Cordula de Laubry, has produced no fewer than eight 1.60m–1.65m Grand Prix horses and is widely regarded as the world’s best broodmare.
Adding a splash of colour to the collection is Jaspéria du Soleil Z (J-Nius V.V. Z x Diamant de Semilly). Will you bid on the very first Appaloosa filly ever offered by Flanders Foal Auction?
