The 80th edition of Youhorse.auction came to an end on Wednesday, October 7, with international resonance. On the second evening of the October auction, the highest bid was placed on Explosive van Koningshof (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x Voltaire), which was sold to China for 38,000 €. At both auction evenings, horses were found new owners in no fewer than 25 different countries, from destinations across Europe to buyers on the other side of the world.
The six-year-old gelding Explosive van Koningshof not only boasts impressive lineage from Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, but also comes from a mare that has competed at the 1.60-meter level herself. This combination of proven sporting genetics and potential appealed to buyers from China, who eventually took the gelding into their stables.
AS Gangster (Coupe de Coeur x Escudo I) was also one of the most coveted horses of the evening. The ten-year-old stallion will go to the United States. The winning bid for the most popular three-year-old stallion Empire State (Ermitage Kalone x Concetto) came from Spain.
From Europe to Asia
The international reach of this anniversary edition was particularly impressive. At the two auction evenings, horses were sold to buyers from a total of 25 countries. In addition to destinations across Europe, buyers from countries such as China, Japan, India, Mexico, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates also found their way to the online auction.
„It’s always something special to see how far our horses travel around the world,“ says organizer Mario Everse. „On two evenings, we reached buyers from 25 countries, including countries that you don’t encounter at every auction. That makes this 80th edition something very special. It shows that there is a worldwide demand for high-quality show horses, from young talents to horses that are already further advanced in their training.“
The performances of the horses that were previously sold via Youhorse.auction are also a reason for satisfaction for the organization. At the latest World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken, no fewer than twelve former Youhorse.auction horses took part.
„This is at least as important to us as the sales results,“ emphasizes Everse. „We want the horses to find the right home after the auction and to continue to develop. To see them compete at a championship like in Lanaken afterwards is a great confirmation of the talent offered through our platform.“
Selection days for the autumn auction
Following the anniversary edition, the next auction is already on the horizon. Youhorse.auction is hosting its autumn auction on Tuesday, November 3rd. The video and selection days will take place on Monday, October 12th, and Tuesday, October 13th.
„We are already looking for the next exciting horses,“ summarizes Everse. „From young spring talent with a promising future to experienced show horses ready for competition. We want to put together a collection that will delight buyers. Anyone who wants to present their horse to an international audience can register for the selection dates.“
