Winner’s fist after the competition: Tom Schewe & Lester celebrate triumph in the CSI5* Grand Prix in Morocco

It was pure joy: With the victory fist in the air, Tom Schewe let his emotions run wild after his victory ride and urged the audience to properly celebrate him and his sports partner. And the spectators did just that. Just before, the 28-year-old had won the CSI5* jumping over 1.55m in El Jadida on the saddle of Eldorado vd Zeshoek’s son Lester. As the last starter of six pairs in the jumping competition, the No. 186 in the current world rankings put everything on the line with the 10-year-old KWPN stallion – and it should have paid off. After only 37.24 seconds, the clock stopped, which was the victory and at the same time the greatest joint success of Lester and Tom Schewe, who had to take a long break after a broken hand.

The Swiss Anthony Bourquard was in a distant third place with Festival Semilly (v. Tornesch), who had to concede narrowly with a time of 37.76 seconds. The third place was secured by the Frenchman Arthur Le Vot with Haristo du Gue (v. Cicero Z).

Tom Schewe had taken over the reins of Lester from Giampiero Garofalo in July 2025. This July, the two were also able to win two CSI3* jumping competitions in Riesenbeck.
