Jérôme Guéry secures Worldcup Grand Prix victory in Morocco – Tom Schewe makes it to fourth place!

To conclude the Royal Tour of Morocco, Tom Schewe managed to secure fourth place in the Worldcup Grand Prix in El Jadida on the back of the nine-year-old Congress Blue PS (v. Congress). After his victory in the CSI5* main event on Saturday with Lester, the 28-year-old battled his way far forward with two good rounds on Sunday afternoon. After the first round, Schewe still struggled with a fall from the course; in round two, when the top 11 riders were eligible to compete, everything fell apart and the cards were reshuffled. In the end, he finished fourth and secured another top-ranking result for Tom Schewe.

Only two riders completed the course twice without a single fault: First among them was the Briton Chloe Aston with Akito von Rocherath Z (v. Arko III). However, the pole position did not last long: The Belgian Jérôme Guéry and the ten-year-old Kiliman Sitte (v. Comme il Faut) overtook the Briton and secured the top spot and all the glory in El Jadida. For Jérôme Guéry and Kiliman Sitte, it was also their biggest joint success so far. Only in July had the Belgian taken over the reins of the horse, which had previously been ridden by Robert Murphy and Jur Vrieling, among others. Third place went to Simon Delestre and Golden Boy DK (v. Diamant de Semilly).

Also in Round Two were Harm Lahde and Oak Grove’s Commander Bond (v. Comme il Faut), after four penalty points in Round One. In Round Two, however, three poles fell and it finished in 11th place in the final result. Maxi Lill and his Commander (v. Comme il Faut) were also still in the money in 12th place.
