After a Spanish overtaking maneuver: David Will becomes second in the CSI4* Grand Prix in Vejer!

The games was over – one thought: David Will had early in the CSI4* Grand Prix over 1.55m on horseback with Maverick (v. Mosito vh Hellehof) presented a smooth and flawless round on the course, so one assumed that his time of 40.67 was not to be beaten. It remained the best mark for a long time.

At least eleven pairs had qualified for the competition. Until the Spaniard Pia Lucrecia Cordon with Pica Pica Z (v. Pilgrim II) entered the course. She beat David Will's time and easily overtook it with a time of 40.03 seconds. This made the Spanish home victory perfect and David Will was able to rejoice with second place with his ten-year-old Maverick, whose reins he had only taken over from the Mexican Paola Amilibia in June of this year.

The third place went to the Frenchman Robin Lesqueren with FBI d’Ellipse (v. Vagabond de la Pomme).

Jens Wawrauschek was also among the first to start the steeplechase with his top mare Mava S (v. Messenger). However, a hurdle error on the first jump dropped them to tenth place.
