Santana (Orak d’Hamwyck x Zavall VDL) was already seen as a potential showstopper of the auction and he lived up to the expectations. The three-year-old stallion was sold for €36,000 and will be heading to the United States. Messilon PS (Messenger x Toulon), an eight-year-old gelding with 1.35m level show experience, also found a new owner in the U.S. for €32,000.
The four-year-old Romeo van de Broeken (Grandorado TN x Verdi) was bought by an American buyer for €26,000, while the six-year-old Onassis (Cape Coral RBF Z x Emerald van ’t Ruytershof) sold for €28,000. The five-year-old Perado R.A.G. (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x Grandorado TN) was sold to buyers from Hungary for €22,000. The four-year-old mare Victoria P vd Donkhoeve (Qupido H x Verdi) fetched the same price and is heading to Egypt, where the auction once again attracted strong interest.
Buyers with sharp eye for talent
Organizer Mario Everse looks back with satisfaction: “We’ve had another fantastic auction! What stood out was the expertise of the buyers. They were able to identify the most commercially promising horses and were willing to pay a premium for them. At the same time – and this is also characteristic of our auction – attentive buyers had the opportunity to strike a great deal. We expect to hear a lot more from these horses in the future, as the buyers clearly have a sharp eye for talent.”
The United States was the largest buyer at this May auction, with a total of ten horses purchased. Egypt, France, Hungary, and the United Kingdom each secured five horses, while Belgium, Germany, and Italy each placed the winning bid on four horses. This once again shows that international interest in Youhorse.auction continues to grow.
