Exceptional three-year-old mare in latest auction by Suus Kuyten

Earlier this month, the May edition of SK Favorite, the Chacco-Blue filly Cinderella van de Heidehoeve Z, was sold to Germany for €21,000. For the June auction, Suus Kuyten is offering another top talent to the public. “This really is a very good horse. She jumps exceptionally well, has a lot of blood, is beautiful and very intelligent”, says Suus Kuyten enthusiastically.

For the latest edition of SK Favorite, Suus Kuyten once again selected a young horse she truly believes in. This time, her eye fell on the three-year-old mare Astramorka Z, a talented daughter of Astronomic vh Legitahof Z out of a strong branch of the Dutch Karla line and a half-sister to Sophie Paxton’s international 1.45m horse Glasgow Z.

“I bought her as a foal and she immediately stood out to me. Even then, she already had a very good canter and a lot of natural balance. Since then, she has developed into a truly beautiful mare.”

Successful in Aachen
Astramorka Z is sired by the promising Astronomic vh Legitahof Z (by Aganix du Seigneur), the stallion with whom Christian Ahlmann impressed last year in the 1.45m Youngster Cup Final in Aachen. The nine-year-old stallion is now continuing his international career under Alexander Housen. “I’m personally a big fan of the blood of Aganix du Seigneur”, Kuyten adds.

Damline of European Championship medallist Nairobi
The damline has already produced several international showjumpers, including Esquire Z and Belfast Z. The best-known horse from this family is undoubtedly Nairobi, the Grand Prix horse with whom Leon Thijssen won team bronze for the Netherlands at the 2005 European Championships in San Patrignano. Nairobi is a half-brother to granddam Samorka.

A different approach to auctions
With SK Favorite, Suus Kuyten deliberately chooses a different approach to auctions. No large collection, but full attention for one horse only. “The market has changed. Buyers are looking around all year long. With this concept I can offer my clients even more, alongside the live auction in December”, Kuyten explains.
