The CSI4* in Gijon ended on August 27 for Abdullah Alsharbatly with eighth place on Valentino (v. Diamantino), whom he had taken over from Scott Brash a year earlier – and it was the last start for the Saudi national prize-winner for the moment. And according to the new FEI rules, the second „Warning Card“ within twelve months automatically means a one-month ban for the rider. Only from October 1st can Abdullah Alsharbatly therefore compete again in competitions.
A red stamp „SUSPENDED“ has been proudly displayed on the FEI side of the 36th in the world ranking list, which at the World Championships in Aachen was held by Diriyah (by Baloubet du Rouet), which he had taken over in the name of Dubai du Cedre with his team Saudi Arabia in November 2025 from Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann, who finished in eleventh place.
Under number 259.1 of the FEI Jumping Rules, it states:
„Any blood on the horse caused by saddle equipment or equipment, or any blood caused by an athlete during a competition (from warming up to the conclusion of all checks/tests after the competition) shall have the following consequences for the person responsible, which shall be imposed by the chairman of the competition jury:
First offense – Warning issued in show jumping
Second offense – Warning issued in the jumping competition
If the same responsible person receives two or more recorded warnings for jumping at the same or another event within 12 months after the first recorded warning for jumping is served, a fine of 1’000 CHF will be imposed on the responsible person and they will be automatically suspended for a period of one month; this suspension begins on the day after the last day of the event at which the second recorded warning for jumping was issued. The FEI will notify the responsible person and confirm the date of the suspension. To avoid any doubts: the delivery of the notification by the FEI after the start of the suspension in no way invalidates or delays the start of the suspension.“
