One would probably have to call it something like a trait that at best can be described as arrogance, but more likely as criminal energy:
When Esam Zbibi, who was starting for England in July and was suspended by the FEI for a year because he was caught with nails in the socks of his horse in Abu Dhabi in February, his trainer and assistant, the Syrian Hicham Gharib, was also suspended for a year because he was involved in this animal torture and had still tried to remove the evidence. But while the rider apparently is sticking to the tournament ban, Hicham Gharib was caught again: he was active at at least one tournament under a false name and was caught again.
Now came the penalty of the FEI tribunal: „The FEI tribunal decided that Mr. Gharib had violated his suspension. As a result, he is suspended for another year, which means that he is ineligible until January 31, 2024. In addition, he was fined CHF 5’000 and instructed to pay the costs of CHF 2’000.“
