They almost never came out of the course without a ribbon: The seven-year-old talented Jagger Minotais and his rider Patrick Stühlmeyer recently shone with second and third places in the Youngster Tour in Münster. Now the common and still young career of the two came to a sad end: The stallion from Cornet Obolensky had to be put down after a serious accident at the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken. This news was announced today by the Stall Schockemöhle, to which the Selle Francais Youngster belonged:
„With a broken heart, we must bring you the sad news that we had to say goodbye to our beloved 7-year-old male stallion Jagger Minotais.
After suffering a serious injury on Sunday at the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken, he was immediately taken to a specialized clinic. Despite immediate medical care and intensive consultations with several leading veterinarians, the severity of the broken leg tragically meant there was no longer any hope of recovery.
Given this heartbreaking reality, as owners we had to make the hardest decision: to spare him further pain. We tried everything humanly possible to save him, but his injury was no longer curable.
Jagger was so much more than a talented athlete and sports partner – he was a special horse with a golden heart. The loss of such an incredible stallion leaves an unimaginable void in our stable.“
