Ciaran Nallon holds pole position in Rabat – Christian Ahlmann jumps to third place

Danach durfte Nallon allerdings lange zittern.

Christian Ahlmann was the second starter in the steeplechase, who went on the attack for the best time with the nine-year-old Diamondino (v. Diamant de Semilly). All the poles remained in place for Ahlmann as well – only the time of 40.48 seconds was not enough to win but to finish third in the final result.

Sandra Auffahrt and her own horse Comcador OLD (v. Comme il Faut) also took on the challenge of setting a new time in the 1.50m jump. This pair also delivered another very impressive round and placed fifth.

The Italian Emanuele Gaudiano also wanted to challenge the Irishman at the end with Nicolaj de Music (v. Kannan). And Ciaran Nallon was also visibly restless while watching the race. In the end, however, he held on to the pole position, as a laughing Gaudiano galloped to second place in 40.26 seconds.

„I really didn’t expect to win. Christians Carado isn’t really the fastest horse, but he has a great attitude and fights really well,“ said the surprised winner, who, with the Brown horse, was already part of the second-placed team Riesenbeck International at the GCL stage in Rabat the day before.
